Morning Tea

This represents myself and Sarah (my partner) laying in bed drinking tea, it’s an intimate portrayal of our life. 
Sarah has always told me that she cannot function without her first tea in the morning and it has now become a ritual. 
She is holding her favourite mug and still isn’t quite awake. When I represent myself in a painting, I will often be found with stripes on my legs and with six toes. It is 100cm X 100cm, oil on canvas and was painted over the course of 3 months.
As with most of my work, this started out as an emotional response to an experience.
